Torvex ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at torvex.app. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
When you sign up, we collect your username, email, password (we never store it in plain text), and date of birth (to make sure you're old enough to use the site). You can also optionally add a display name, bio, pronouns, avatar, and banner.
We store the messages you send in server channels and DMs so they can be delivered to other people in the conversation.
We log your IP address when you log in or register. This helps us keep the platform safe by detecting suspicious activity and ban evasion.
We place a small cookie on your browser to recognize your device. This helps us detect when someone creates multiple accounts to get around a ban. You can clear it any time by clearing your browser cookies.
We check whether your connection is coming through a VPN or Tor. We don't block these connections — we just note it for security review if needed.
When you're logged in, we collect a fingerprint of your browser's technical settings — such as screen resolution, timezone, language, and graphics hardware. This is used solely for security purposes: detecting ban evasion and linking accounts that may belong to the same person. We do not use it for advertising or tracking across other websites.
We analyse metadata about who you interact with on the platform — such as who you mention, message, or react to — to detect ban evasion. We do not read the content of your messages for this purpose. This analysis looks at social connection patterns only, and is used solely to identify accounts that may belong to a previously banned user.
You may optionally add a phone number to your account for account recovery purposes. If our systems detect that a new registration may be evading a ban, phone verification may be required before the account is activated. Phone numbers are never shared with third parties or used for marketing.
We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember your session, recognize your device for security purposes, and protect forms from tampering. You can clear them any time through your browser settings.
We never sell your personal information. We use a few third-party services to make things work:
We keep your data as long as your account exists. If you want everything deleted, just email us and we'll take care of it.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Torvex. Users under 18 may be subject to parental controls. If we find out someone under 13 signed up, we'll delete the account right away.

We take security seriously. Your password is encrypted, all traffic is sent over HTTPS, and we follow industry best practices. That said, no system is 100% bulletproof.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
